  • Salary $67,492.88 - $78,291.20 p/a + super
  • 38 hr p/w  fixed roster, with on call and weekend rotation
  • Current Class C Driver's Licence


Located 16 km's north of the Sydney CBD, the Ku-ring-gai area covers 84km2, is home to 124,000 residents and set in one of New South Wales' most attractive natural environments.


An opportunity exists for a suitably qualified and experienced Area Ranger to assist in the enforcement and control of Council Local Laws and policies, relevant Acts and legislation through regular patrols. 


This role will see you patrol the streets and roads, public reserves and Council Car Parks to detect any breaches of the relevant Acts and Regulations and issue warnings and/or infringement penalty notices as appropriate. You will respond to the community on matters such as companion animal management, parking enforcement, illegal development, and environmental protection and will take a key role in reaching positive resolutions.


Maintaining appropriate records through the preparation of reports and correspondence, the keeping of registers and statistics, and the documentation of evidence is a key requirement of this position. You will also be required to undertake inspections and prepare reports on activities that are the subject of complaints.


Your fair and reasonable manner, ability to apply quick judgement, along with high level interpersonal skills will enable you to deal with conflict and make difficult decisions daily, in relation to community and compliance activities.


To be considered you will ideally have experience as a regulatory Ranger enforcing Local Government and regulatory legislation coupled with appropriate tertiary and/or Local Government Law Enforcement qualifications. Possession of a current driver's licence is essential.


Short-listed candidates may be required to undergo a criminal background check prior to advancing onto the next stages of the recruitment and selection process.


**A willingness to work flexible hours on occasion will be required**
