Position Description

  • $26.89/ hr + 25% casual loading
  • Previous experience working with children 0-5yrs in LDC


Thomas Carlyle Children's Centre provides quality full day care and occasional care for young children in a stimulating, safe and nurturing environment where choice, fun, growth and active participation is encouraged. 


An opportunity exists for an experienced Early Childhood Educator to join our Long Day Care Centre on a casual basis.


Reporting to the Centre Director, this dynamic role will see you assisting in the planning, implementation and evaluation of the daily program suitable to the needs of children 0-5 years.


Covering all areas of the program, this role will include interacting with the children in a positive and responsive way, preparing and clearing away materials as directed, ensuring children are supervised at all times, assisting at meal and snack times and following the Centre Philosophy.


Working in a team environment, you will be flexible in your approach, able to easily multi task and have the ability to use your initiative and problem solve any situation in a reflective and positive manner. You will have excellent interpersonal skills and will use clear communication when dealing with parents, within team meetings and in face-to-face situations.


A Certificate III or Diploma in Early Childhood Education & Care coupled with an up to date First Aid, Child Protection and Asthma and Anaphylaxis Certificate and a current Working with Children clearance number is essential. A sound working knowledge of the NQF, the National Curriculum (EYLF), safe food preparation and handling and the ECA Code of Ethics is also required.
