Position Description

  • Salary $78,292.24 - $90,819.56 p/a + super
  • Tertiary qualifications & experience essential


Ku-ring-gai Council is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced professional to join our Development Assessment Services team.


Reporting to the Team Leader Development Assessment, this role will see you assess a range of development applications, ensuring compliance with relevant codes, standards and Council policies.


Your duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Assessment of development applications
  • Preparation of assessment reports
  • Providing professional advice to consultants, developers, the community and state government agencies
  • Representing Council in court, at panel meetings and on site meetings
  • Providing technical input at development pre-lodgment meetings


Being able to successfully manage competing priorities and high volumes of work effectively within tight timeframes is a key requirement of this position, as is the ability to work both independently and as an effective team member.


To be considered for this role you will require tertiary qualifications in Town Planning or a related discipline and experience in a similar role.

Excellent interpersonal skills, with particular emphasis in the areas of consultation, negotiation and conflict management is also required.


This position is 35 hours per week with access to flexi time.
