Description:
  • Salary $78,292.24 - $90,819.56 p/a + super
  • FTC up to June 2021
  • Based at Council's Pymble Office

 

Located 16 km's north of the Sydney CBD, the Ku-ring-gai area covers 84km2, is home to 124,000 residents and set in one of New South Wales' most attractive natural environments.

 

Council is currently seeking applications from suitably qualified and experienced professionals for the role of Internal Auditor to provide a range of internal audit services operating under a shared services agreement to six member councils including Hunter's Hill, Ku-ring-gai, Lane Cove, Mosman, North Sydney and Strathfield.

 

In this role your duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Assisting in the development and implementation of the internal audit plan across six member councils
  • Carrying out internal audits in a professional manner
  • Providing objective feedback and recommendations to Council
  • Facilitating business risk management
  • Participating in each member Council's ‘Process Improvement Programme'

To be considered for this role you will require:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Accounting (CA/CPA) or related discipline such as business or information technology
  • Professional Membership and commitment to professional certification as an Internal Auditor (CIA or CISA) or accountant (CA/CPA)
  • Relevant experience, including the ability to plan and implement a practical research activity such as an internal audit, review or investigation in a complex organisation.
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills with a particular emphasis in the areas of consultation, negotiation and conflict management
  • A current Class C driver's licence

 

Desirable Selection Criteria

  • A thorough understanding of Local Government in NSW or capacity to rapidly acquire this knowledge
  • Training and proficiency in computer audit tools such as ACL

 

This position is 35 hours per week with access to flexi time.
