Position Description

  • Salary $65,846.79 - $76,381.55 p/a (pro rata) + super
  • Class C Drivers Licence & WWCC Number
  • Permanent Part Time (28 hours p/w)


Bordered on the North by Ku-ring-gai National Park and the South by Lane Cove National Park, this leafy municipality offers its library service from four branches based at Gordon, Lindfield, St Ives and Turramurra.


Ku-ring-gai Library is seeking an enthusiastic Librarian to join our Library Services team.


In this role your duties will include:

  • Customer-focused service delivery to library clients
  • Use and maintenance of current library and digital technologies
  • Delivery of programs and events
  • Cash handling and reconciliation management


As a senior member of the team you will provide support to branch staff, ensuring all services are provided in a professional and friendly manner and meet the diverse needs of the community.  You will also be required to promote library services, collections, events and programs within the Council's libraries and through outreach.


This role would ideally suit a hands-on person who possesses the ability to work collaboratively in a team to tight time frames while maintaining the provision of consistent, high quality service delivery. 


To be considered for this role, you will require:

  • Professional qualifications in Library/ Information Science or equivalent as recognised by ALIA (Australian Library & Information Association)
  • Current Class C Drivers Licence
  • Current Working with Children clearance number
  • Conflict resolution and negotiation skills


As a part of the branch network team this role will be required to work 28 hours per week (Monday to Thursday) at any of our libraries as rostered. A willingness to work flexible hours on occasion, including rostered evening and weekend work will be required.
