Position Description

Description:
  • Salary $56,763.39 - $65,845.73 p/a (pro rata) + super
  • Permanent Part Time (21 hours p/w)

Located 16 km's north of the Sydney CBD, the Ku-ring-gai area covers 84km2, is home to 124,000 residents and set in one of New South Wales' most attractive natural environments.

 

Council is seeking applications from suitably qualified and experienced individuals for the role of Visitor Services Guide.

 

Reporting to the Team Leader – Tourism & Visitation St Ives Precinct, this role will see you provide environmental education and visitor services. Your duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Welcoming and orientating visitors to the Wildflower Garden
  • Staffing Visitor Centre
  • Preparation and set up of Precinct facilities (BBQs, Caleys and picnic areas)
  • Coordinating and running weekend ranger-led activities including bush birthday parties and spotlight walks
  • Delivering environmental education programs including school excursions and school holiday programs
  • Assisting with St Ives Precinct events as required
  • Preparation, coordination and delivery of Wildflower Garden Events including School Holiday programs

 

We are looking for a hands-on person who possesses the ability to work collaboratively in a varied and fast paced team environment.

 

To be considered for this role, you will require:

  • Current First Aid Certificate
  • Current Class C Drivers Licence
  • Current Working with Children clearance number
  • Experience in face-to-face customer service

 

This role will be required to work 21 hours per week (Tuesday, Saturday & Sunday) as rostered. A willingness to work flexible hours on occasion will be required.
