Description:
  • Salary $90,820.60 – $105,351.48 p/a + super

Located 16 kms north of the Sydney CBD, the Ku-ring-gai area covers 84km2, is home to 124,000 residents and set in one of New South Wales' most attractive natural environments.

 

Council is currently seeking applications from suitably qualified and experienced professionals for the role of Strategic Recreation Planner to lead the planning, identification and delivery of recreation and open space services, assets, programs and projects within the urban centres of Ku-ring-gai

 

Reporting to the Manager Urban Planning, your duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Recreation planning and strategic development of facilities
  • Development and implementation of policies and strategies for the improvement of recreation and sport in the local area
  • Providing high quality, accurate technical advice within agreed timeframes
  • Liaison and collaboration with other business units, external consultants and stakeholders
  • Representing Council at Council meetings and onsite visits

 

Being able to successfully manage competing priorities and high volumes of work effectively within tight timeframes is a key requirement of this position, as is the ability to work both independently and as an effective team member.

 

To be considered for this role you will require tertiary qualifications in Sport & Recreation Management or a related discipline and substantial experience in a similar role.

Advanced communication and negotiation skills with the ability to represent Council in public forums and negotiate win-win outcomes is also required.

A current Class C driver's licence and WorkCover WHS White Card is essential.

 

This position is 35 hours per week with access to flexi time.
