Located 16 km's north of the Sydney CBD, the Ku-ring-gai area covers 84km2, is home to 124,000 residents and is set in one of New South Wales' most attractive natural environments.


The BBP program assists businesses of the North Shore to improve their sustainability performance.Council is currently seeking applications from suitably qualified and experienced professional for the role of Business Sustainability Officer.


Reporting to the BBP Program Coordinator, your duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Delivering the BBP program in the Ku-ring-gai Local Government area
  • Providing sustainability advisory services to Ku-ring-gai businesses, as well as follow up sustainability  services
  • Assisting in recruiting and retaining businesses to the BBP program
  • Working proactively with the BBP Program Coordinator and other Business Sustainability Officers and partner Council staff to deliver an integrated BBP brand experience
  • Developing promotional and educational resources and content for the BBP program
  • Conducting and reporting on BBP program monitoring and evaluation
  • Developing and maintaining effective relationships with key internal and external program stakeholders to enhance BBP program outcomes


Required Qualifications/Certificates:

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline and /or substantial relevant work experience
  • Current Class C Driver's Licence


Required experience/skills:

  • Demonstrated experience in the delivery of sustainability engagement programs
  • Demonstrated experience in providing technical advice on business sustainability
  • Demonstrated experience in developing promotional and educational content in a sustainability context
  • Proven ability to collate, analyse and report on sustainability data
  • Demonstrated project management, financial management and organisational skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication, report writing and presentation skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and in a diverse team environment
  • Able to work flexible work hours, including evening and weekends, when required
