We are embarking on an exciting period of change to increase our capacity to meet the growing needs of our community. In the next five years, Ku-ring-gai Council is expecting to deliver several large projects that will create new capital assets and services including libraries, child care facilities, parking areas, green space, community hub projects and associated retail, residential and transport development.
An opportunity exists for a suitably qualified and extensively experienced Project Leader with a proven successful track record, to lead the major projects team across the acquisition, planning, development, and delivery of these community ventures, ensuring industry best practice and relevant legislative acts and probity requirements are adhered to.
Reporting directly to the Manager Major Projects - Delivery, and with a focus on execution and delivery, you will apply strategic thinking and decision making to the resolution of complexities involved throughout the project's lifecycle from inception to completion. You will be accountable for developing and monitoring project plans, coordinating resources, and monitoring budgets to ensure successful milestones are met, as well as for the preparation of a range of project-related briefs and documents.
Responsible for leading a multidisciplinary project team, including subcontractors, construction firms and internal stakeholders, you will have a demonstrated aptitude in establishing credibility utilising high level communication and negotiation skills that will actively build on, support and maintain key internal and external stakeholder relationships.
To be considered you will hold relevant tertiary qualifications, ideally with post-graduate accreditations in property, planning and/or management. Demonstrated competence with project management in the areas of scope; risk; subcontract and procurement; as well as financial management is required. A current Class C Driver’s Licence is essential.
